The Power of Purple

I am currently sitting on a train  on my way home for a few days to see my lovely Family.  So as you do when you are travelling I have been reading a number of magazines to keep myself occupied.  I have just finished looking at the Vogue 'Catwalk Trend Report A/W 12 and have seen lots of interesting trends. From winter florals (more powerful  than pretty) to black leather worn head to toe…

Although all these trends are exciting and different I am not too convinced by all of them. For example 'Psychedelic Furs' although the colours are awesome, I am not a fan of faux fur.  Especially when you live in the North of Scotland where it rains unpredictably and very regularly. Now I don't mean to offend anyone by saying this but why would you want to look like a wet dog and does damp faux fur not smell?

Don't get me wrong it is not all bad sometimes paired with the right outfit and weather conditions a faux fur coat can look very classy and glamorous but be careful!

On a brighter note though one trend I am fully on board with is 'The Power of Purple'. Purple is a fabulous colour it comes in so many shades and compliments so many colours. Now that I think about it the DM's I got for my 16th birthday were a dark purple and the Vivienne Westwood pendant I got for my 18th was also purple. I will have to get a nice purple dress to wear for my 21st next year keep up the tradition. However that isn't for a wee while yet in the meantime keep your eyes open for some purple bargains in the summer sales.
