British Fashion Awards

I was trying  to think of a subject to write about when my phone beeps... an email from Vogue about the British Fashion Awards. So lets talk about that I wont go in to them all as I am sure you will here over the next few days but we will discuss a few.

On the British Style Award website it says, "The British Style award is for an individual who embodies the spirit of London and is an international ambassador for London as a leading creative fashion capital." with this in mind it was decided that Alexa Chung should win the award for the second year in a row.

The pictures to the right is from last years and left this years awards and as always she looks stylish but I am not as inspired by her as so many others are.

I appreciate she has an amazing sense of style, she knows what she likes and pulls it off well while still looking very pretty. But does she ever change her hair?or is it always slightly messy and falling in her eyes?

Stella Tennant won model of the year, Stella was born in Scotland and went to school in St Andrew's. I always feel proud when someone from Scotland does really well and Stella Tennant is no exception her unusual look (almost masculine) has booked her jobs from Chanel to an H&M campaign also including her daughters.

The final winner I am going to mention tonight has been named designer of the year: Sarah Burton.

"The British Fashion Council is proud to announce Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen as the winner of The British Fashion Awards esteemed Designer of the Year award 2011. Burton’s creative direction at Alexander McQueen has allowed McQueen’s legacy to live on while still giving her own twist of creative genius to a collection that has outshone its rivals on and off the catwalk."

Sarah Burton as had an extremely successful year and is now a house hold name in Britain as she designed Kate's beautiful dress for the Royal Wedding earlier in the year.
